Fanaa (2006)

This movie revolves around the life of Zooni, role played by Kajol who is a blind woman in this movie, who travels to Delhi with a dance troupe without the permission of her parents and travels alone there. Once she arrives to Delhi, her travel guide, Rehan (Aamir Khan) has a liking for her and flirts with her the most, but her friends do not approve of him. Eventually these two, Rehan and Zooni fall in love and Rehan wants her to regain her vision, He gets her admitted to this local hospital and Zooni invites her parents to see this miracle of her regaining her vision and to meet her lover as well. But no one is aware of the big secret which Rehan is hiding from everyone including Zooni. Then before Rehan can go pick up everyone from the hospital, they get the message that he has been killed in some bomb explosion on his way there. After this, there is a 5 year leap in the movie and shows that Zooni regains her vision and gives birth to a baby boy, Rehan jr, but this is where the climax comes altogether. One day someone knocks on their door, the man claims to be Major Rajvir Singh and they let him in because of all of his wounds which need to be taken care of. They are not aware of the havoc this man will cause because he is the same man who fell in love with Zooni five years ago. It will be interesting once viewers find out what Rajvir Singh has come back for and when finally Zooni's family find out his true identity.

In this movie, there are some beautiful songs such as; Chand Safarish and Mere Haath Mein, even though these are romantic type songs they will never get old. The story in this movie is very different, fits for the actors/actresses, and it is one complex love story with a few twists. Both halves of this movie are very well made, but the second half contains more complexity, twists and better acting by Kajol, mainly. I have to say the best acting in this movie is by these three main actors; Rishi Kapoor, Kajol and Tabu. I would say Aamir Khan but at times I did not like his acting and his long hair as well. The rating I would give this movie is an 8.5/10, a few things I would want to change is the first half of the movie, maybe the lead actor- sorry Aamir, and add another twist to it. This movie is very deep in how it shows the courage you need to make these kind of choices, such as between what to choose, love or duty and making us ask how much can we forgive at the end? The few genres in this movie include; drama, romance and thriller. Overall, I would say give it a watch, most likely you will watch it till the end but I would say before watching it listen to the songs and see the chemistry between Kajol and Aamir.

Pyar Kiya To Darna Kya (1998)

This movie is one of those movies with comedy, romance and lots of drama but has an amazing ending as usual with these amazing actors/actresses. The movie is about Muskaan (Kajol) who lives with her over-protective brother, played by Arbaaz Khan and her chachu, which is played by Dharmendra. Later on, Muskaan decides to go to university in a big city and decides on how to persuade her brother and chachu to let her go. At this university, she meets this boy, Suraj (Salman) and they become friends and slowly start to fall for each other. But, Muskaan's brother Vishal is not fond of Suraj and decides to bring Muskaan back to the farm, meaning to live at home. Vishal has other plans for Muskaan and who she should marry, which is the brother of Thakur Vijay Singh but Vishal does not know that he has his own greedy reasons to be marrying his brother to Muskaan. After this is where the plot twist comes in and story becomes more interesting and dramatic as well. This is one of those romantic flicks with a twist, meaning it is between a city clicker and the simple village girl.

I would recommend this movie to romantic flick lovers with a twist in them and if you want to see Salman and Kajol together in this amazing movie. I do love both Kajol and Salman, but in this movie Salman was the better actor in his role since it fit him perfectly as the lover and the saviour for Muskaan and her family. Kajol was good in her role too as giving Muskaan a bubbly, sweet and while being sheltered in her over-protective family. I would give this movie a 9/10, because of the amazing directing by Sohail Khan, best songs, and the best ending too which brings everyone together of course. I would recommend watching some of the songs first since that's what brought me into watching the movie when I first heard about it. One of my favourite songs from this movie has to be the song titled, Odh li Chunariya since it has the melodic voices of Alka Yagnik and of course the amazing Kumar Sanu. I love how the chemistry between Salman and Kajol is very romantic, genuine and fits well with both their personalities in the movie. The many genres including; romance, drama, comedy and revenge all fit very well together because of the amazing director, actors/actresses and songs as well.

Har Dil Jo Pyar Karega (2000)

This movie is titled 'Har Dil Jo Pyar Karega' with Preity Zinta, Salman Khan and Rani Mukherjee are the main actors/actresses. The story in this movie is about how when one day, Raj (Salman) who is a struggling singer, he rescues this girl, Pooja (Rani) from a car accident and takes her to the hospital instantly. Before the accident, Pooja was eloping with the man that she loves and her so called wealthy family assumes that Raj is that man. Pooja is left in a stage of coma, where she can hear and see everything but cannot move. When Pooja's best friend comes Jhanvi (Preity) comes to visit , she is unsure if this is the man that Pooja loves but Raj starts to fall for the best friend and not for Pooja. Also, since Pooja's family is wealthy, he sees an opportunity for himself to grow out of the struggles he has been having as becoming a singer. Once she wakes up from her coma stage, a love triangle occurs between Raj, Pooja and Jhanvi. This is when the confusion starts between the families and its interesting to see how they all cope with this twist in the plot and who stays and who does not.

I would give this movie a 7.5/10 since it had most of everything that a romantic comedy needs and since it's a little old it gives it more of a spark to it. I loved the role which Preity played since her character in the movie was more bubbly and energetic too. The pairing of Rani and Preity is the best since at this time both of them are up and coming actresses. Also, the story is well written, very sweet and sad as well at times. In one of the songs by Salman Khan, Sharukh makes a guest appearance which makes the song even better. Rani's character is one of the best, since she does mature in the second half of the movie and did an amazing job as being Preity's best friend in the movie. I would watch this movie over and over since it's part of the classic movie collection along with many more with actresses such as Rani Mukherjee and Preity Zinta. I would personally say give this movie a shot, if the story does not intrigue you into watching it, then the songs will for sure have you off your feet and make you want to watch it all.
